How to increase my chances in a job interview?
If you want to immigrate to the US, you should know that finding a job is a must. You need a job to improve, and who doesn’t like to improve? Also, you need a job to pay the rent, pay the universities tuition fees, pay for the food, clothes, and so on.
To have a job, you have to pass an interview, while your resume, experience, and knowledge are important, some things can help you to increase your chances:
- Get to know the company before you attend the interview. Get to know its founder, history, goals, problems and try to come up with a solution.
- Wear formal clothes. Try to keep it professional, and formal unless there is another dress code. Unfortunately, most people judge you from your appearance, therefore wear something that shows your expertise and your confidence.
- Get to the interview’s location 10-15 minutes earlier. Don’t be late; no one likes that kind of employee.
- Don’t forget to bring things that you might need. Bring copies of your resume, cover letter, and work samples.
- Practice the frequently asked questions in an interview.
- Keep the conversation professional and avoid informal or personal speeches.
- The first impression is always the key, don’t forget.
- Prepare the questions you would like to ask them.
- Write a thank-you letter afterward.
