Driving License in the USA:

What do you think about driving? Has it not been your dream since you bought your first toy car? Most of us love driving and need to learn the skill in order to speed up our daily activities.

You sure know that some traffic regulations are different all around the world; for example, some countries say that vehicles should be driven on the right side of the road, while some others say that they should be driven on the left side.

Anyway,

Not only do the driving rules differ all around the world, but also the process for getting a driving license differs. In the USA, each state has a different rule and procedure for a driving license so if you want to get your driving license, I hardly recommend you to learn about the state’s rules first.

To get a full driving license, all Applicants should follow the 3 stages:

• Learner’s Permit:

Learner’s permit means that you can start learning how to drive a car with a parent or an adult (normally over 21) who has a full license.

You cannot drive by yourself and there are some restrictions that you have to pay attention to.

*      These restrictions may differ in each state.

*      You have to be at a minimum age to get your Learner’s permit. This age also differs in each state.

• Provisional license/ Restricted License:

After you hold your learner’s permit for a minimum time (6 to 12 months), you can apply for a provisional license. At this stage, some previous restrictions might be eliminated, but not all of them.

You can drive by yourself, but only in the daylight.

*      The restrictions may differ in each state.

*      You have to be at a minimum age to get your provisional license. This age also differs in each state.

*       

• Full License:

After you hold your provisional license for a minimum time, you can apply for a full license.

Now there are no other restrictions. You can drive whenever and wherever you want. Just pay attention to traffic regulations.

Pay attention:

*      There might be a test after each stage.

*      In some states, after a certain age, you might be able to pass the first 2 stages (usually 21) in one day.
