How to deal with homesickness?

How to deal with homesickness?

part 2

We’ve already talked about homesickness and how normal it is to be homesick. But you should bear in mind that if you don’t control homesickness, it could turn into a destructive bomb that destroys both your present and your future.

Now that you have accepted your feelings, it’s time to act. Today we want to talk about something that can help you with the process:

Recreation:  /ˌriːkrɪˈeɪʃ(ə)n/     noun

the action or process of creating something again.

Sometimes we are so attached to our habits that it is hard for us to let them go; as it is said:

“Old habits die hard”

When we migrate, we have already left lots of things behind, such as our home, our family and friends,…. Therefore, it could really help if we could recreate some of our old habits,

GOOD ones of course.

  • If you used to work out, then try to do some sports in your new city.
  • If you enjoyed shopping, eating at restaurants, watching movies at the cinema, or anything else; well, continue doing them.
  • Find a place where you feel familiar with it, spend some time there.
  • Take some portable mementos while packing.
  • Change the design of your new house and make it similar to your old one. Design it in a way that relaxes you.

Don’t let Homesickness control your life.
