What’s your name?

Kevin

What’s your title?

Partner, Director of Business Strategies

What does your job entail?

I work hard for our clients.  The goal of my job is to demystify and make it easy for our clients to come to the United States of America and attend University.  It is my job to navigate the process for our clients and help them to find the right academic institution that best matches their future career goals.

What is a typical day like?

My day starts at 4:45 A.M. before my family gets up.  I like to have my espresso, answer emails, and set up the goals and tasks for the day.  I then make breakfast for my daughters and get them off to school.  The rest of my day I work for our clients at One Key Visa.

Favorite memory?

Crossing the finish line, and completing my first Ironman race in Cozumel, Mexico.  An Ironman race consists of 2.4 mile swim, 112 mile bike and a marathon (26.2 miles)- all in one day.  It was one of the greatest feelings of accomplishment in my life.

What do you like most about your job?

I have a passion for academia, and for liberty.  I am very lucky as the Managing Partner at One Key Visa because I get to deliver to our clients everyday 2 of my greatest passions in life.  I accept this stewardship with tremendous honor of delivering an enriched academic experience for our clients and helping them achieve the liberty that all of us on Earth inherently deserve.

Where are you from?

I am a second-generation Italian.  My family is from Collesano, Sicily.  I currently live with my wife and our 3 girls in a suburb about 30 minutes west of Chicago, IL.

What do you like to do when you aren’t working?

I love spending time with my family.  My wife is my best friend, and we have been together for 16 years and are raising 3 wonderful daughters- 5, 8 and 10.  But truth be told, I love cooking with my daughters.

Who are your favorite sports teams?

Currently in love with the United States Women’s National soccer team.

What’s a fun fact about you many people may not know?

I have a second-degree black belt in Martial Arts, and I took second place at the U.S. National competition.

Where did you get your bachelor’s degree and master’s degree?

I did my undergraduate work at Depaul University in Chicago.  I went to graduate school at Harvard Business School in Cambridge, MA.

How do you think your bachelor’s degree in psychology helped in your business training?

The teaching methodology utilized at Harvard Business School is known as the Socratic Method.  Harvard uses real business case studies to teach finance, strategy, marketing and overall business administration functions.  I really enjoyed the case study method because there really isn’t one right answer.  In most academic environments, the goal of the class is to have the entire classroom arrive at an agreed upon consensus solution to a problem.  Most life and business challenges don’t have binary solutions.  My psychology training helped to reinforce my ability to see different individual perspectives and expand my problem solving tool-box which I exercised and honed during my time at Harvard Business School with my fellow classmates and professors.
